Default Dealership installed sound system upgrade specifically tuned for your 2012 Scion xB

It's not cheap but it will fit nice and pretty. And I believe it should sound good, not loud but good enough.

The connector on 2010 headunits and below is the "ipod direct" style (flat black connector).

Im pretty sure this is the reason why
That's Awsome because un Puerto Rico the scion xb comes standar with the t1814, 16'' wheels and floor mats.

But i want to install it my self. Any way to buy it and get it shipped, or buy it to get it picked up at the dealer?

Perhaps I'm wrong, but I suspect aftermarket is the answer to this !

Always. Period. For the money, you can install yourself and even learn during the process.

From the images given, it looks like the 6' woofers are paper cone with fabric surrounds. Not really state of the art, but adequate. An 8 channel amp sounds like the emphasis is on lots of channels (one channel per speaker), rather than sufficient power. I like the underseat subwoofer system (made a set for my car already with two Fosgate 8" at 4 ohms wired parallel). It's a nice upgrade from stock, but I'd guess that a good aftermarket system designed by a reputable store/friend will do better, at a lower price.

RANT WARNING: The following is just my opinion and does not represent the views of this website, their hosts or their dog. Take after meals and void if taxed or prohibited.

One thing that I find misleading, and this includes systems from Alpine, Fosgate, etc. is the notion that flat or optimized equalizer response is the be all and end all of good sound. It does contribute to it, but I've heard many optimized systems (home and car) that had a smooth frequency response, but sounded lousy. Most glaringly, was the lack of definition in the sound (detail). You need to have clarity, detail and smooth response to get good sound. I'd guess that many, if not most car stereo enthusiasts have not had the chance to hear a really good system. That would mean going into a high-end audio store and asking to hear a great system. Be warned, some of these people argue over which $1000 power cord is best! But it'll get you an idea of what great sound sounds like. Don't go in with any attitude, but be willing to have your ears treated to something good. And say thank you when you go. Buying something there helps too (besides, it's a toy store for audio gearheads, you're bound to find something you like!).

Sorry to have to say this, but some of those idiots with high end audio stores have little appreciation of what high end sound really is -- they're way too often just out for the bucks ! (The showcased systems will frequently demonstrate this, regardless of the megabucks!) There's no substitute for the capable equipment and ability to recognize sound that remarkably closely conforms to the original source. That's what high end audio is actually all about, but unfortunately, few appreciate that. If you're not reproducing the original performance, then you're just spinning your wheels !

Frankly, it's tough enough to reproduce a real performance in a home environment, let alone in an automobile. Then you have these idiot car audio shows where the only way speakers can even be listened to is if the doors are open, how real world is that? Forget the bull____, go for what sounds as satisfying as practical in your own car. If you've got that, then there's nothing to complain about -- just enjoy !

Agree with Trevor. My jaw drops when I hear what some people spend on car audio and then you have to question the motives; great sound, win car shows, pi*s off your neighbors (lol) etc. etc.

I'm fortunate to have found an audio shop in S. Fla run by old school audio freaks that will give you a no B.S. auto sound education but they are rare and as the owner tells me most of his customers today want systems to play todays music which is mostly computer generated and requires a completely different system.

It's difficult to find what you require from everything that's out there and really.......did anyone ever buy anything that sounded the same in their car as it did on a showroom wall?????

Thank God for forums and guys that take the time to try to help others through their own experiences

What's really crazy is the elitism in car audio that goes both ways. Those elitists who think the most high dollar brand is the only way to go, and those who are "audiophile" snobs. It's car audio. Doesn't mean two ____s to anything important.

Get what makes you happy. It's a hobby, enjoy it.

I respect everybody’s opinion but if use my radio is for me or however is in my car so I will never find necessary to add extra weight to my car so the people on the outside will listen to it while I’m getting deaf. And another bad thing is that if you want to listen to music while your car is in ACC that is a no go unless you add another car battery or you will be asking some one to hump you (if you have a stick not an AT and if you have a AT well that sucks. And again add more weight and taking useful space.
