I am planning to do this to my doors only, then eventually doing the rear under cargo storage area for a sub. I like the ratings and price on the edead, I will more than likely go with that. What I would like to know, is how much I should get for now on just the 4 doors? I'm not looking for a competition style sound, so I will more than likely go with the v.1. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

depends how picky you are. i used about 100sq ft just on my doors, hatck, and trunk. overkill for sure but it did the job.

Did you have any left over from the 100 sq ft, and how much. How much of the 100sq ft did you use on just the front 4 doors? Thanks for the input though. Gives me something to look at then.

Here were my estimates from researching on ICIX and speaking to eD:

eDead v1² Rubber Butyl 45 Mil. – Approximately 50 sq. ft. for floor, quarter panels, gate.

eDead v1SE² Rubber Butyl 60 Mil. – doors. 2 layers 6’ per layer. Estimate: ~48 sq. ft.

Road noise reducer: eDeade V4 Closed Cell Neoprene .25” thick ~24 sq. ft. total. 6’ per door 1’ behind each speaker.

Hopefully I'll be doing my doors this weekend, I have it sitting, waiting.

if i can give you one tip, it's to work in small patches. i tried bulldozing through it and it just ended up taking longer. but as i've said a bunch of times, it's a mod that is totally worth it. for the money and time spent, it's a heck of an upgrade. i'll probably do my roof and the floor of the car someday as well. the difference is huge. and with your system, i can guarantee it's going to be night and day.

Randomsuper, did you install the edead inside the door, on the actual door skin itself, or did you install it like some of the others have done. ie...the one's that "Bing" have been doin on some of these xB's? see link about D Unit's audio install.

door skin, door panel, and the metal that all the wiring is strapped to. like i said, it took a while and was a big pain. it's one of those things that as you're doing it, you're sweating, swearing, and trying real hard not to cut yourself since that aluminum or whatever it is coating can slice you up good. once you're done, you'll thank god you won't have to do it again, but you'll really hear the difference. the best is when you close the door. it sounds so solid. don't let me discourage you guys! i hated doing it but if i could go back in time, i'd still go through the trouble.

Oh I have heard the mylar and/or aluminum backings can slice you. It's a one time pain, and I will definitely go through with it.

Aluminum yes.

Cut yourself on some V1²/SE² and I'm sorry, but I'll have to make fun of you

I've tried to do it before and you really can't.

Laugh at me, but send me my 13" VSi enclosure please ;)
I'll be doing the deadening on the doors this Sat with Renzo (z-lite on ICIX) hopefully. I'll be sure to post up over there with pics.
