so i just ordered some 2 new 10" re audio se subs and i need to build a box for them. it's gotta be ported, it's gotta bang, but it's gotta sound good doing it. anyone have any box designs they'd like to share with me?

i have the specs for diamond audio's box but i want to try something different like a jl audio box or something like that. if someone can help i'd appreciate it!

first thing i do is check the instruction manual of the woofer to findout what the optimal airspace volume is for ported. After you know the airspace, do some math to findout how wide and tall and if your gonna do fiberglass, make sure you resin the **** out of it.

it also tells you the diameter and length of the port

the more solid, the less vibrations equate to more concentrated bass

thats four 10" rockford stage 1's in a sealed box.

^^^Looks good, bro! But there's a LOT more to it than building an enclosure to manufacturer's specs. Build an enclosure built to manufacturers specs and tell me how the frequency response differs between a trunk car and a Suburban... There's a lot more factors to consider. :D

I'd suggest a cube a piece with about 14 square inches per cubic foot. So you're looking to design an enclosure 2 cubes net, with about 28 square inches of port. Depending on what you listen to, I'd keep tuning around 32-35hz. Try to have the subs up and port up, or if you wish subs up port back.

I built an enclosure for a truck for 2 RE SE 10's. I built the enclosure a little on the small side, but it was about 2 cubes with a little too much port, but tuned to 32hz. Sounds great on all music and they will take the 1000rms amplifier all day long.

i want to do a sub up port back set up but i have the cargo cover and it really limits what i can do since i only have about 14 inches in height to play with.
