I bought a 2009 Scion xB and I plugged in my iTouch in the center console
with the cord I got with the car but nothing happened.

Is this a problem with the center console or radio or both?

Try this:

1. hold down home & top buttons until iTouch screen goes blank (ignore red slider bar)
2. turn car stereo on
3. connect iTouch to stereo
4. turn on iTouch

works now?

Might need to go with Bluetooth connection.
