Default JL Audio Stealthbox & Amp QUESTION

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-E45gWNM...tealthbox.html

looking into this, price is steap but its just what im looking for.

Here's my question, the W3 thats in there (12w3v3) on crutchfield states that the RMS for the sub is 100-500w. I'm not quite used to a range. Usually i've seen a number (RMS) then a max. Here's the dilemma, I have a MRP-M850 Alpine monoblock, pushes 500 rms at 4ohm which i would say is dam near perfect for this w3. But i looked on JL Audio's website about this specific sub and it states that "optimum" RMS is 300, while 500 being "dangerous to "Voids warranty"". I hope this amp is fine, its brand new never used and been sittin under my bed for a year lol...

thoughts plz?

Ok, well don't max out the amp and you will be fine. That amp is perfect for the sub. You never want to underpower a sub and you dont want to overpower it.

The amp is fine for this application.

With the system's gain structure set correctly, and a bit of common sense, that amp & sub can work very well together.

your setup will be fine. i have a pdx5 running the 12w3 stealthbox and the rest of my speakers no prob. I just got my hd 900/5 that was on order for months thats going in my car. The pdx5 was a temp amp till the jl hd amp came in. The hd amp is 500watts rms and will work fine for the stealthbox.

If i told you how i paid for my stealthbox you would think the price on crutchfield is expensive too. Why dont you just get a kenetik battery instead of getting a capacitor? Thats what i did and its perfect. Still waiting to put in my 900/5 amplifier.
