Default Lower Kick Panel Broke Tab

Got a 2010 Scion XB RS 7.0 with 11,000 miles on it, cleaning it today and i notice that the driver side kick panel on the bottom of the dash above the pedals is not seated all the way on the left side of the steering wheel, I have only had two oil changes and nothing done to the car at all. Has anyone else had an issue? i am going to my dealer this week when i get my new work schedule so i can set up an appointment, if it aint covered under warranty i hope they fix it cuz either they broke it or i bought the car new with it broke.

i havent seen any issues with it. It might have been in delivery and just wasnt noticed? Im not sure if they will warranty it or not, they may claim it as a broken part by the owner.

there are two clip pieces on that side that may just be broken. I hope its not the male ends on the panel because then the panel needs to be replaced to fix those. Either way those female clip parts are around $0.86 each so even if the dealer doesnt warranty it, you could replace them easily.

That is my only fear is that they won't take care of it, i have worked in retail for over 6 years, so right now i am going to be nice and happy, but if they don't then i have to start _____ing lol, mostly cuz no one should have touched that panel to begin with i don't think.

Also how does it come off? does it just pull out all the way around, does anyone know?

And what is the push button on the bottom of the panel for?

That's for reseting the TPMS sensors. Instructions are in your Owners Manual.

Have you ever had any mods done to your vehicle? I saw you post months back about getting satellite radio hooked up. Did you have that added? Anything electrical? Alarms, Car Audio/Video?

Na i didn't add it, too much stuff to put in at that point. So i have only popped the hood on the car like 4 times, this is the first car i haven't had to mess with lol.

Try to remove it and figure out the problem, remove the door sill plate. I think there may be a plastic clip in the side of the kick, but, not sure. Then just pull towards you and the kick comes out. Then you can see if ts broken.

Ohh, you mean the knee bolster. The kick panel is that small black panel on the floor by your left foot. That panel was probably just not lined up correctly when someone put it back in. Should be an easy fix.

You should just take it in and tell them its not right. I work at a Toyota dealer and we fix this type of thing all of the time under warranty even if its 2yrs and 11months old with 35999 miles on it. It really shouldnt be an issue.

Yeah Ive always learned to be patient and it will get you a long way. people will go outta there way if you bought a car from them and they service it also. All in the way you treat them.
