Default No CD Title

I have the standard Panasonic radio/CD installed in my '08 xB.

When I insert a CD, the panel always reads NO TITLE for the CD name and the track name. I understand it might do this on my own recordings but it will not title any commercial CD when I toggle through the text button. The track number and time work.

I also noticed the volume for CDs needs to be much higher than for the radio.
Is that normal?

Is there something else I should be doing to make this work or do I need to take it back?

Some Audio CD's support "CD Text", and some do not:

The 08's come with Pioneer head units, not Panasonic. If you have a Panasonic in your car then you might not have text capability....depends on the model.

My mistake. It looks like this...

I just played the current Scion Demo CD and that was no title, also.

So either titled CDs are extreemly rare or something is wrong with my player.

Well, not extremely rare, but not too common. Your radio is fine.
