Question on xB rear doors
(My apologies to the mods - my initial post was in the wrong thread ... I couldn't find a way to move or delete the original.)
New member here. Greetings, all!
I owned a 2008 xB, so far, the best car I've ever owned (I'm 64 yo,) but after 180k miles up in VT, the rust has killed it, RIP. Still runs great, but everything inside the exterior panels is about to drop into the road.
I just got a 2013 xB, and am sorting through the minor differences between the two. Going from the dark burgundy exterior to the BRIGHT RED will be one adjustment. ;)
One thing stood out so far (aside from actual rear taillights and a legit arm rest - hooray!) is the rear doors: on the 2013, there are no stash areas low on the doors for drinks, maps, etc. that are there on the 2008. Since I still have the old car, does anyone know if it is possible to swap in the 2008 rear door panels for the 2013 ones?
Thanks for any advice - and if there are any other things that might be useful to know about how they differ, I would be grateful for any input.

Thanks very much for the response - this weekend or next, I will try and see if they swap out. I am afraid (just on sight) that the storage compartments of the 2008 will impinge on the edges of the seats of the 2013, but I have to take the doors off anyway to swap out the upgraded speakers from the old vehicle and replace the stock ones in the newer one. So we will see. It just needs to stop raining on the weekends around here so I can do it ...
Greg:
The door panels did swap out - but with a LOT of grief: the newer panels left a third of their plastic plugs in the door, not in the panel, so I have to carefully extract the plastic plugs and reinsert them in the right slots of the panel, then remount them. It is a very tight fit at the window, but it worked. The textured faux fabric on the panels is patterned slightly - different, but not very noticeable - and I don't have many passengers, so I am home free.
Now I have to see if I think extricating the front speakers in the old car to put in the newer one is worth it.
Thanks four the spot-on advice.

drilling the speaker rivits is no biggy
as far as extracting the clips, with the panel off you can reach in behind and pinch the tabs on most of them really easily, theres only a couple of them that you just cant reach..but with that said they do just pop out if you can get a solid grab on them and not need to go in from behind

Thanks for the tips - I finally got the plastic rivet removal tools I had ordered, but were not delivered. So, after reordering them and getting them, I hopefully will have an easier time of getting the rivets out of the doors, as well as getting the door panels off the front doors without breaking or stressing those slots that they sit in on the inside of the door panel.
Tomorrow, I'll be removing my front speakers from the old car - and I'll peek inside the panels of the newer car to see if those were also stock. I was happy I did so on the rear doors - not only got the door panels, but I discovered I had updated the rears to some Polk coaxials that have much better sound that the stock Pioneers. They are now in the newer car.
