Default RCA to aux cable?

I want to replace the radio with a Pioneer avh-3200bt but I don't want to have an aux cable hanging from the front of the radio. Can you use an rca to aux cable in the audio input on the head unit to get sound from an mp3 player...not ipod? Also, what is the best install trim kit for a near factory look?

If the headunit has the aux in option, I don't see why you couldn't. Also, you may be able to tap into the OEM aux port through the console. Just have to figure out all the wiring.

As far as the trim, I've used Metra with a decent look. If you want it to look seamless, I'd recommend gluing the trim pieces in, body work, and paint.

The head unit has a front aux port and rear audio/video inputs. The manual didn't go into detail about audio in.

The AVH has a front usb. I was finally able to contact Pioneer. They said I could use the adapter cable, but the display would be blank.

Yeah, since the audio in is only audio, no data. Just make sure you get a mount for your MP3 player to make it easy to use. Also, many of the trim kits work well in the xB. Personally, I wouldn't glue/bodywork/paint the aftermarket trims in; if you needed to remove your HU, then the trim would have to be forced off.
