Looks good. I actually used a piping roller to put mine on as well. Had it around from redoing the window screen on the house.

I guess it would depend upon the weight/thickness of the fabric. But if it's heavy enough like a denim, I don't see the problem. I would be careful if you DO use it, not to over saturate the cloth so the glue/adhesive doesn't bleed through.

Awesome post! I'm doing mine in blue vinyl this weekend. was it hard to get the corners to look smooth? I've never done upholstery before, but I'm confident that I can pull this off. I like the pattern on your vinyl, btw.

The corners were particularly difficult but if you use a small rounded object like a spoon for instance it is easier to get in there. Basically just make sure that you don't use anything sharp while you're tucking the vinyl in there. And thank you for the compliments! I wanted people to have a clear idea of what to expect! I actually got a really good price on the vinyl as well so a win win situation! Good luck on your venture! I would love to see pics when it's done!

Thanks. The front looks good bc I did the back first. I learned from my mistakes, though.

i was going to put green EL wire around the fabric in place of the rubber piping but the EL wire was way to small. it fit nice when the foam was there. not anymore i need the 3.2mm now.

I got it at a local upholstery shop. Cost me $30 for a yard, which is enough to do all the doors and have some left over to fix a panel if you need to.

It's blue vinyl. Not sure of the thickness, but it has the woven backing, not the soft fuzzy kind. I used 3M 90 spray adhesive which is available at Lowe's for about 11 dollars.
