I've been searching around to see if anyone else has had this problem, but can't find anything. I have the Scion Xb Release 7.0 with the premium Alpine system and had no problems using my iPhone 4 (other than the sluggish response time), but now I have upgraded to the iPhone 5 and, probably because of the new Lightning connector.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to resolve this?

Hmmm, have you tried chatting online with Scion? Im, guessing this is a common issue and there might be a firmware update via cd or you might have to use an adapter.

 

iO6 is your problem. I have had countless customers coming in with that issue. Run it through aux or control by hand if your stereo has the capability until there is either a fix from apple (unlikely) or an update from scion (pioneer/alpine). But I would not hold your breath on that one.

So far this is the only info I have seen from any manufacturer.
