i used to have a DD 10" 3500 in my first gen and after driving around town for a few weeks people would always ask me if i was running 2 12s or 2 15s. i would laugh and show them my 1 10" sub and they wouldnt believe!!! after blowing 2 of those went to a 12" 9500 series and that thing was a beast. i would go with DD 9500 series, Image Dynamics ID Max, or Alpine typeR, the type X is much better but i thinks its a lil over your price target. shoot, i havent checked the price on the DD lately, they might be over the target too
i actually just built a single sealed box that fits snug under the passenger seat. the build was inspired by whiteymarvin and his design (thread HERE)
im currently running a 10" kenwood kfc-w2511 powered by the kac-8104d under the driver seat w/ the stock head unit. i still have to finish the cosmetics of the box but so far it sounds great. if you want to save money and trunk space you should consider this build!

Inspired by that JL box but not by the price I went the DIY route. The only thing I'm getting outsourced is the wrapping of the box, I'm gonna go with black vinyl. Upon measuring the volume I fell a little short of the manufacturers required specs but oh well. I'll see how it sounds once I'm all wired up.

I know its a bad habit but I never take pictures of the buildup process. I'll try and find the tutorial I followed and I see that you're relatively close, I have a good portion of the materials I used left over I wouldn't have a problem mailing the fiberglass mat to you provided you paid for shipping.
