SNS + Upgrades?
First things first. I admit, when I purchased the SNS I did on an impulse buy and didn't even research it. Now we got that out of the way...
I'm 20yrs of age, going full time to college, and working full time. I have a very limited budget now so my audio will be upgraded in segments. I want for now, just to add a little bump in the trunk. The factory speakers sound good to me and I just want some more bass.
I don't want to cut, solder or splice into any wires, so maybe this idea is far fetched but maybe if I had a 6-inch segment of factory harness to connect to the after-market harness. So... Factory>After-market>high level out to amp>6inch segment>SNS. I have a 1000/1 JL Audio amp, some "okay" 12's and of course the amp kit. Should I buy the Scochse inline?
Next, are putting different components in the doors worth the trouble with SNS? Can the SNS EQ make them sound good? Or should it be amp'd? I just dropped 2g's into this stereo and I would like to keep it at least. Or maybe eBay it?
Thank you all for taking the time to read this!

Maaaan... 2g's for the stock is quite a bit, but it does look good because it takes up the entire space. If you want to add that 1000/1, I'd recommend the line level converter. You'll have to splice into wires, but you can use what are called t-taps. But you'll also have to wire the amp to an ignition source...
If you're going to use all that power, be careful. The alternator is only 100amp and that amplifier should pull about that at max output. I have about $3000 into my entire setup... But I'm going to change subs soon.

aye, definately get a line converter, I had initially used the line level inputs on my kicker 700.5 and wanted to shoot it. picked up one of these http://www.davidnavone.com/cart.asp?14&pid=155 from navone engineering. night and day diffrence
Make sure you learn everything that the SNS can do; between the SSP function, the bass/dynamic adjustments, and the variety of EQ settiings, I have been amazed at how good the SNS sounds with the stock speakers. If all else fails, read the manual. No negativity implied, just my 2 cents. I'm extremely happy with this head unit, it does more and sounds FAR SUPERIOR to my friends "premium" head unit.
That being said, it will never have the bass response of any good quality amp/subwoofer set-up.

Today I was playing with the SSP and I seemed to make the stereo sound even better, I still want to get that extra bump so I found http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...42SLC4&tp=2001 that.
As anyone had any experience with these? I bought one for my old ride from a local shop and the quality didn't seem too strong. The plastic felt cheap but it did what I needed at the time.
Like I said before I really hesitate to t-tap into the factory wires as that would void the warranty but hey rules are meant to be broken. I guess I could go ahead and do it anyway, I have all the components sitting in my room and just aching to get installed. I do need some higher quality sub woofers for this amp I have... which is http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Produ...1&i=13610001V2 by the way.
Also, has anyone with the SNS upgraded stock speakers? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
