Default Suggestions on running power wire through fire wall

I've tried searching but my search term choices are coming up with zilch. I'm doing the Big 3 today and am trying to figure out where to bring my power wire in for my amp install. It looks like there's a grommet for a harness on the passenger side that I can cut a nipple off and drop the wire in through there. Anyone have any better suggestions?

Just 4awg, nothing crazy.

Thanks!

Thats where i ran mine. Was a real PITA because im a big dude, i couldnt get under and twist my way around and i had to take the wiper cowl off because my bear paws couldnt get through with the strut brace.

I have train horns ive been waiting to install because i really dont want to go through with it all again.

Yeah, I'm no small dude either. This should be fun. Going to think skinny and see if I can get through this. Keep me in your prayers. LOL

Here's my finished under hood shot. I wanted a stealth, factory look. Still have to do the big 3 upgrade, hope to do that in a couple of weeks.

Did you just muscle your power wire through there?

I just wired a sub/amp in my car for the first time two weeks ago, my friend and I had a huge issue trying to get the wire through the nipple.

We cut a wire clothes hang and fed it through, and then taped the power wire to the hanger and pulled it through. Thought I'd just share if anyone else was having problems

I used an exacto knife to carefully cut some of the material out of that area around where the nipple was, then sprayed some Windex on the opening to help lubricate the wire. It slid right through.

I also fit a 1/0 wire through the passenger side grommet.

1. Take out the glovebox
2. Find the grommet, towards the right
3. Pop the hood and find the same grommet, behind the strut tower,
4. Cut a 1/4" hole in the grommet... Stick your finger in it to spread it a bit (that's what she said)
5. Crimp the ring to the end of your power cable
6. Take a medium or large zip-tie and on the end with the "block", pass a small zip-tie through the hole and zip-tie the ring of your wire to the medium or large zip-tie. Cut the small zip tie and put electrical tape over the "block" so it doesn't get stuck.
7. Pass the zip tie through the grommet starting from the inside of the car
8. Go back to the hood and pull the zip tie and cable through
9. Route the cable along the a/c lines toward the back of the firewall. Stay clear of anything that heats up.
10. Wire the whole system and only connect the cable to the battery when everything else has been wired.

Enjoy.
