For those using ipods w/aftermarket head units..
i think that is the only safe place to put it unless the cable can reach to the arm rest but then you have to make a hole just to get the cable through which of course isn't a big deal because you won't be able to notice it.
i don't have this headunit in my car but i have seen it in others. why would it get hot in the glove compartment?? my stuff never get hot in there unless i leave my windows up on a really hot and then everything inside gets hot
Mine's in the glove box too...... never had a problem so far. As far as it getting hot...well the HU get's hot too. even hotter cause it' sitting on top of an amp & has moving parts which the IPOD has none.. I aint worried....... worked great all last summer & I expect it to last many more summers... good luck... jh
i have mine on a bracketron bracket in my center console. it's hidden and outta the way, most ipod cables are about 7 feet or so so you can put it anywhere.
9/10 cables that i install i run to the glove and people just let em lay in there. heat is not an issue, think of rollin with your ipod in your pocket?
no biggie
