Default What is this button?

Hi everyone!
I have a 2008 Scion xB that I got back in January. I LOVE this car!! Question- what is this button to the left of the gear shift? It doesn't have a face plate on it, so I have no idea.
I have looked at the owners manual and haven't found anything. I have attached a pic in the hopes that someone can help. Thanks!!

You are probably referring to the shift interlock button. If your shifter ever gets stuck and won't move, here is the procedure:

"Put the emergency brake on. Find the shifter lock override slot, which is usually located on the shifter console close to the shift lever. The slot will be plugged with a plastic cap. Remove the cap and push down on the button with a nail file or other pointed object."

Hope this helps.
