xB2 Sub Install Tips?
So I guess the pragmatic answer would be that for all practical purposes the amp will probably be fine mounted on the sub as long as it's solidly constructed, however, mounting it elsewhere would be ideal as it will be out of sight and will not be subjected to direct sub vibration.

Got the sub/amp installed and it sounds beyond amazing. Earth-shaking bass yet very clear and precise. Love the convenient SubWoofer Control function on the Pioneer Premium headunit. I can get a nice even mix when driving around or crank up the boom with the turn of a ****. I didn't add any dynamat at all and no rattles so I'm really happy about that. The box is so heavy it isn't going anywhere so I'm not worried about securing it. Should the sub become airborne, it's much too big to fit in the gap between the roof and the top of the rear seats. It'll fly out the rear window before it comes into the cabin area.
Hmmm... that little latch mechanism on the fold-down rear seats doesn't look particularly strong to me. I wonder if it can hold back a 50lb sub box in a frontal impact? Nylon tie-down straps are cheap insurance.

Since we're posting subwoofer boxes...

One Orion H2 12.2 in a 4th order bandpass powered by a Directed 2400d at 4ohms. Sub was seeing about 1000watts.
It was loud. Then my amp went up in smoke. Now I have to get it fixed.
I stillw ant louder.

For the sub set in the "floor" of the cargo area, did you need to fully remove your spare? Also, if you would have had two subs would you have been able to set them in the floor closer to the outside walls? Maybe even using the storage bins for depth and an enclosure angling the subs towards the center of the cargo area?
I'm not great with 3d placement, so I can look at something and think it'll work but will just end up wasting hours with a dremmel...

I'm having problems figuring out which wire on the factory deck to splice up to for the 12-volt wire to the amp. I got the power cable installed, it was easy I came in that rubber grommett in the drivers floor, wasn't aware of the one behind the glove box. I also need to know how to hook up the factory rca cables from the amp to my factory deck. I know it's time to upgrade but Santa can't come quick enough for me to wait I NEED THE BOOM NOW...LOL
Please any tips reply to my mobile email cause I'm anxious, riding around with all the install tools waiting for the knowledge to pop everything together. So hit me at

i'm running my sub like jimmbomb. mine doesn't jump or slide at all. and with mounting the amp to the sub box... its your call. the MDF board that these boxes are made from don't transfer a lot of vibration to other items touching or mounted to it... ie, an amp mounted to it.
hey guyz I'm thinking about putting in a Bazooka what do you guyz think? i don't want nothing out of hand just something small that wont take to much room and get some good clean, deep bass.....

If thats what your budget allows, then go for it! If you can afford more bucks for more bass, then you ought to consider going a different route. About "good, clean, deep bass"...... I cant tell ya, cause I have never heard a bazooka sub going.. sorry... & good luck! jh
