i got mine through ebay, but you can get them at your local parts store. i was planning on using a bosch style 5 pin stsp(single throw, single pole) relay.

well the grill material is free and if i take the foglights outs, there will be holes left cause i threw away the cut up grill leftover.

wow that sucks. so i guess that ebay stuff gotta be pretty weak. whats the point of getting fogs if they can't handle rocks and other debris in the road. good luck trying to fix it. do you get any sort of warranty from that ebay seller? also have you tried to contact the ebay seller?

 

I bet a piece of film from one of our sponsors of this site will keep it together and enough moisture out to keep using it. These cars are just rock magnets. Nothing like hearing a rock hit your radiator, that dull metal ping sound.

Yup, there is no short cut. I went through 2 sets of fog lights for my xa til I got the oem toy kit. No problems from it. When I got the xb, I looked at ebay and a few other websites, then went with the same company I used for my xa, sparkstrd.

 

Has anyone attempted to use a diode? Just a thought, I plan on trying it tomorrow.. The question is, is it the surge of the headlight circuit blowing the instrument panel fuse when using the button illumination wire or is it because of some other reason? If it's due to the headlight circuit then a diode should do the job...

 

A diode is just a one way valve for electricity. Not sure what you are doing myself.

 

yes the diode allows current to flow one way and only one way, so instead of the +12v of the headlight wire backfeeding into the +12v of the dash light wire, it's blocked.

Established why it's popping fuses on the dash light fuse, because once you turn the switch on the headlight wire goes to ground.. So relay it is lol

 

I finally got the schematics for the lighting system .. all u have to do is jumper the foglight wire (blue white) to an existing connected wire in the headlight circuit.... all u r doing is providing a ground earlier.... ( acting as the headlight switch)
if u don't believe me ... well then that on u cuz mine worx.... with no relay installed either!!!

My idea to run the fogs or heads without the switch was to splice my hid relay kits to a piaa 4 channel remote controller switch for hooking up aux lights, underbody, etc and turn them off and on. I would use 1 slot for the fogs, 1 for high beams and who knows the other 2. This way I could run the fogs alone or if the power fails and I park in front of my unit, light up my room. Or the rear most parking lot where I work at 11pm when I get off I can light up my car.

well the guy above stated he just did a piggy back. which means he kept the switch i just want to see what exactly he did =X
