2008 Scion xB Gold: Worth the attention? (first car)
I am finally purchasing my first car ever, a Scion xB 2008, and I am considering purchasing it in the Gold Limited Edition color. Something that has been plaguing me however, is that although the Gold color is great and unique, it will draw a lot of attention,
from cops, people who might admire it too much, and car thieves. Do you think that such a color as gold will put it in unnecessary attention from such people and could harm it eventually, such as attempted car theft, catching attention of police on the road, etc?
I need any opinions I can get.

i have one but it dont seem like too much people will care. you'll get the looks but mainly from tuners who do things to their car. i dont really care if people would look but i'm sure you'll be reconized much more easily.

If you're worried enough to post the question, then you might want to consider Super White or Classic Silver Metallic.

You probably have a better chance with it being damaged by someone. I've seen posts of peoples cars being messed with. One was a silver xA, and that's one of the most common colors.
Looking through the forums I've found many posts of people in general bashing Scion as a whole, most just verbally.

i had the choice between any color that i wanted and we have 2 RS5's on the lot. I decided to go with Super White because its just a clean look when its all modded.
Right now i get plenty of looks in my car. Its just lowered on steelies and has a carbon fiber hatch and spoiler. Granted the carbon hatch and spoiler makes people think im loaded because thats $1100 worth of carbon right there and the car doesnt even have wheels yet lol
I would suggest Classis Silver or Black Sand Pearl if you dont want to stand out from the crowd. Any color with mods is going to get you attention, remember that.

Get the color YOU want and furget about it! Thats what insurance is for...........
What he said!!!
Don't let other people dictate what YOU really want. If you don't get it, everytime you see someone on the road with it, you'll ALWAYS regret not getting it. Life is too short to have any regrets. Many of us already have too many......
GET IT!! GET IT!!!

Ya, get what you want or you'll regret it later, but also make sure insurance wont try to find a way around paying for anything. Besides, anyone know if the RS's have a higher resale since they're "special"?
Oh, I do remember a post on here, someone with an RS xB, they needed something fixed with the paint (don't remember the specifics) but the dealership they went to kept saying it wasn't a stock color, that he had an after market paint job so it ended up taking the person a long time to finally get them to fix it under warranty.
