i've read the fist gen xb's are prone to cracks due to the nearly vertical rise of the windshield.

i haven't seen the new 2008 in person yet but it looks like the windshield is more sloped?

can anyone who's bought or seen the new ones comment?

i love the original- even with the put put engine but lack of side airbags had me looking elsewhere. then plus all the windshield cracking comments....

 

The xB2 is lower and the windshield more sloped which translates to less surface area to worry about. I would imagine that there will be less problems---it will not take long to find out......

 

it's hardly lower. but the windsheild is shorter with more rake. so it should be less prone to cracks from road debris. stress cracks too soon to tell.

 

my dad has the xb2 and it got a pretty good chip 5 hr after he got it

 

I have been driving it for 1100 miles and no problems. I dont think is going to be an issue like the 1st gen.

 

It shouldn't be too prone of cracks.
