Hey ya,

Was on my way home from work today and out of the blue my CEL/VSC light came on (VSC blinking)..I was not going at a rapid speed in fact I had just pulled from a light change and there was traffic so I was at slow speeds 15-25 max

Dealer was closed so I could not call the service dept but will be there by the time they open tomorrow.... (hope its covered under my extended warranty whatever it is)


I know I had seen some topics in the past of the VSC coming on but no CEL I have both...just wondering if anyone knows what it can be??

My car has no mods on it engine is bone stock....oil changed when required and had no issues til now.... also its at around 51k

 

What year is your car? I know the 08s face possible coil pack failure.

 

My wifes RX350 did the same thing. I pulled the code only to be a loose gas cap lol. Not saying this will be your case but hopefully is something this simple.

 

2010- Yea I know all the symptoms are the same as the 08... we will see tomorrow

That would be odd I filled up the tank on Tuesday...imma check that out too although I do think I would have gotten it sooner if it was that....

 

VSC points to a wheel speed sensor. That would be my first guess.

 

Ok so just got home from the stealership and this is the out come:

Error Code P0031 AF Sensor Bank 1 sensor 1.... so yea my O2 sensor is gone

now my question is this: every time the CEL is popped does the VSC automatically come off as well,kinda retarded if thats the case no?? I mean what does my O2 sensor have to do with Vehicle Stability??


anyways its covered by warranty....thank goodness I opted for the 7yr/100k still had to pay a percentage of the diagnostics charge but all good....I got the car back dealer said its ok to drive and they will call me when the part comes in...keep ya posted....
