Default 2010 Scion xB Release Series 7.0

I just purchased a new 2010 Scion xB Release Series 7.0. I wanted to get the interior illumination kit (floor and cup holder lights) and the fog light kit. For those of you that already have the illumination kit, I was wondering, if you liked it? Pros and Cons? etc. And if there is a cheaper place to buy them compared to Toyota/Scion's prices. Also, are these something I can let any mechanic install or should I take the car right to Toyota and let them do it, and will they install them if I did not buy them from Toyota? Thanks!

i have the illumination kit for my tc... not worth the $100+ price tag that they put on it... you could do it you self for less than half of that price...

You could buy the part from Sparks Toyota, Myrtle Beach SC as mail order and shipped to you with detailed directions as to how to do it The prices are better than most parts depts and all OEM. However If you had toyota do it you would have the same warranty as the car. I like the illumination even though I sometimes think it isnt bright enough in the footwell. It is worth it just for the cupholder illumination. Congrats on the RS7.0 I've got #735

Welcome to ScionLife! I love that color of the xB, so definitely get some pics up here for us so that we can check it out!

If you like to save money, you can actually install it yourself. It's not too bad. Or if you're not comfortable installing it yourself and still want to save money, you can buy some random LED's from http://www.ledmod.com or http://www.oznium.com and get someone to install it for you.

As far as the fog light kit, it's definitely an AWESOME upgrade to have. Mine are in the mail and I can't wait to install them. I will be swapping out the bulbs for some HIDs in order to get a really good look.

Good luck with your xB!

Welcome MuraskiAshley to the Forum. My Release Serise 6.0 came with the interior light kit, and I do like it. I purchased my Fogs from TRDSparks and installed them myself. I have talked to several dealers, and found some that will not charge you labor to install options if you buy them at time of your XB purchase. Since you just got it, I would check with your dealer. If they will not charge you labor to install them, then that would be your best bet!
