Default 2015 xb engine noise

It somewhat sounds like that knocking noise a diesel makes on acceleration. It has about 110K miles on it. Any tips on what to look at?

Best bet is to make a video of it and probably post it cause it could be anything from a bad engine mount to a pulley bearings shot to anything. The list just grows. Make a video and post it for advice.

It could be "ping" or detonation too... Next time you fill up after you run the tank down below 1/4 full, put mid-grade fuel in and see if it makes the same noises.
Yes, video the noise, it will make diagnosis easier.

Thank you; I've been putting in the non-ethanol gas here and there, but I didn't try the better octane stuff. I'll give that a try and also make a video.

I let the tank get low and put in 93 octane and at first it seemed better, at the moment I would have said an improvement, but later on driving it I still notice it. This car has 109K on it and I've never changed the plugs so I am going to do that tomorrow and see if there is any effect. My son has a 2008 and I can somewhat hear the same thing in it (129K), but not as loud. You notice it when accelerating. The 2015 seems weaker in acceleration than the 2008. I do run some Lucas fuel injection cleaner through it every few gas tank fulls. If I change the plugs and don't see any difference, any thoughts on what to look at next? I can make a video driving down the road with it and accelerate hard to see if the video catches the sound.

Even iridium plugs can be done at 100K miles.

I still need to get the plugs changed; will report back when I get that done!
