Default 2015 xB - New Owner

Hey guys, just picked up a 15 xB yesterday. I was in the market for a 'spare' car, something I can rack up the km's on without caring about resale value and was looking at GTI's, until I came across the xB. The value for money, quirky looks, manual transmission kinda made it irresistible for me. Some tasteful mods like lowered, air filter was already done, the roof rack adds a nice look as well.

Anyway, just thought I'd come in and say hello. Do you guys use winter tires on it if it snows a lot at your location? I think I may have to get some as in Alberta it snows a fair bit and right now it has Michelin Pilot Sport. Any other tips and tricks I should know about from the veterans? Anything I should be careful about or do a certain way to ensure longevity?

Hope to learn more about these and hang out with you guys for a while. It's the first 'different' vehicle I've ever gotten so it should be interesting.

Congratulations, and welcome to the forum. Hope you stick around.

Personally and respectfully, unless I frequently used the roof rack and it installs and removes easily, I would not typically ride with it on the roof. Love the wheels, color and rear wing.

Thanks guys.

About the roof rack, I understand it's probably not best for aerodynamics/mileage etc, but I enjoy the look of it so just left it on there.

Just had the car go through a stage two paint correction and polish with ceramic coating putting on it. Will post pictures of it anyone has any interest.

if you want to ensure longevity dont drive the car in the winter....lowered xB plus snow, equals snow plow...did you get the stock steel wheels with it? if you DID, then nows the time to have some good Nokian Hakkapeliitta snow tires put on the steelies and put them on your car. before winter really starts..

Don't worry, they are not that aerodynamic. You can add a tow hitch too.
I've hauled with it
