Default ABS Sensor wire

Ok jus wondering if I am really the only one that this has happened to.... I woke up Friday turned on my car to find my VSC and ABS lights on... ok so I drive over to the dealer have them look at it.... I get called in to find out that my ABS sensor wire was torn in half... not cut just ripped... first off im like how the hell does that happen I mean really?? Then they tell me its not covered under warranty because that is considered physical damage which is not covered under my bumper to bumper warranty... so they are telling me its gonna cost me about $450 to have it fully installed and repaired....Im ____ed about this for real its not like I went and pulled it and I have no fault if there was something in the road (which I always avoid potholes or debris) that somehow got caught and ripped it unless some stupid animal ate thru it..i dunno

Just get a used wire and install it yourself.
Its pretty dangerous driving with the ABS light on cause any sudden brake turns on ABS faster

If the cut is in the middle of the wire, solder it and seal it up with some adhesive lined heatshrink.

well supposedly the tech said he was gonna try to solder it but it cant be done for whatever reason, he told me but I honestly forgot what he said....I would think it would be that easy right? but looks like this place is not to interested in helping me out as much as they are interested in making money off of me lol

This just happen to me. I have a first gen. That hook that sets the abs wire to the strut got lose. Abs wire ended up cutting the boot open and the abs got ripped in half. The axle plus boot is 80 plus the sensor harness is like 160. Trying to look more though. Might hit up a junk yard for the harness.

If you are worried about the abs turning on when you brake normally just pull the fuse till you get it fixed.

My rear speed sensor and my ABS sensor got messed up to. My whole dash lit up like a christmas tree, my E-brake light, Traction control, ABS would randomly come on, and my ABS once locked up on me. I took it to the dealership and Im good friends with the scion manager, I told him what happened he completely understood, and I got it fixed for free. How long have you had your xB? This should definitely be covered under warranty, Im sorry but thats some bull____, they should fix that for you immediately.

A lot of times, mice chew through the wires. I don't know why, but they do. Maybe they are tasty. We had a customer in 3 times in one month because a mouse kept chewing through her o2 sensor wire under her van.

The sucky part on the 2G is that the ABS sensor is built into the rear hub and bearing assembly and it's expensive.
