Default ABS/VCS lights on?!?!

I go on the freeway today, and after driving for about 3 minutes my ABS, VSC, and the skidding car icon all lit up. i took the next exit, shut off my car, then turned it back on. once I started driving the lights all turned off. My car only has 9,000 miles on it, should i be worried?

Two Questions.

1. What kind of wheather when happened?

2. Road condition and type of driving (cruising or accelerating)?

I ask becouse these light s especially the vsc can come on while system is operating. So on a wet road under acceleration it is likely that the vsc light would come on as a warning.

The road was dry, temp was about 75F. I believe i was cruising at around 65. The lights disappeared as I was accelerating (after i took the next exit).

According to the manual, they come on to indicate the systems are working, then go back off when they are not needed. If they stay on, take it to the dealer.

I had rented a matrix s awd and took it the same route I have drive for years. Anyway I heard a funny sound and saw the yellow light on with the wigglie tracks on it. Hum? I must be drifting through that area and never knew it in the older cars. Its an exit with a merge to a 3 lane intersection. I normally ride it in, brake, see the way is clear, gas then brake a second time and vier off to the lane I want.

If thats what the manual says (about the lights coming on when the system is working), then I have nothing to worry about.

For the most part, yeah. Not to be a smart butt, but according to the manual, its ok to see those lights as it means they are working. If you see the power steering, low tire pressure, cel or brake, you have problems. The vsc and wiggles means you are using either one of the system and you should be more careful.

Like I said I had the matrix I rented do that to me and I was driving like i had my lowered xa on prosport springs and hostkins front and rear sways.

These lights should only come on when you first start the car and go off after a few seconds. They should not come on after that unless something is wrong.

The VSC light comes on when you have turned off the system via the switch on the lower left side of the dashboard.

Yes...when ABS or VSC is needed, they come on...but they are not constantly on.

She wasn't braking or skidding when the lights came on.
