Ok, my list of annoyances with the xb2 is small (good thing since i own one), but the angle of the headrests is really bugging me.

I'm an average tall guy (6' 2") and angle of the headrests forces my head forward. Doesn't seem to be any way to adjust. I can only adjust my drivers seat a little to compensate, as there are two (yeah, two) baby seats on the back seat.

Anybody else have this problem, or can suggest replacement head rests?

 

I'm 5'5" and they kinda bother me. I think it's cuz of the "scoopage" angle, so if you're too tall you get the angle that forces your head foward and if you're shortish your head is inside the scoop so its all the way back

 

I didn't know that the regular headrest are not adjustable, because the DVD headrest are adjustable in 3 different angles

 

oh, I get it, Scion's trying to make me pony up for the DVD player just so I can adjust my headrest.

crap.. I thought I was only joking Maybe I will look into getting at least the dvd headrests... can't swing a dvd system right now. But at least you've given me a direction to look into!

 

Oh! there's always one on every forum and that is me today. I am 6'0 and love the headrests. I really do. It's a good thing too because I'm so poor I can't pay attention and do not like the thought of springing for dvd headrests. I'm single now and kids are long gone. (never call and never write) So noone is in the back watching anything!

 

I love the headrests!

I am 6'6" and it supports my head well. Not many cars support me well like the xB does, which is one BIG reason I loved it so much (among others). Extremely comfortable for my height and I feel secure in the seat. No issue at all with the headrest, it's one of the best in any car I have been in...

So ill be the second to say I love them!

 

I'm 5'5" and I could see why people would be annoyed by the angle, its perfect for me cause it leans forward. i can drive and lean my head back at the same time.

 

I did some looking on the net.. and found the DVD system w/headsets for the xB is $1200-$1500!! Yikers.

Any idea on who sells headrests? I've never had to buy these before. ;)

 

The headrest seems ok to me and I'm 5' 10".

The only thing that does bother me about it is I seem to push it up getting in and out of the car. I hit it with my shoulder.

 

If the headrest posts are the same size and spaced the same width (which they should be) then they should be swappable with other Toyota headrests. And to get matching fabric colors, I'd look into used xA/xB(Gen1) headrests. Also look into tC headrests. I know the driver's seat headrest on the tC has adjustable angle.

If your dealer is nice, they'll let you test fit them with one of the many headrests on the lot (or try your local Scion meet).

 

check in the owner's manual - it tells you where to position the headrest height and it feels more comfortable to me that way.

I had a customer complain to me about that on a test drive. She just turned the headrest around and said it was fine after she did that.

 

now that might work! have to check it out...

 

turning around the headrest eh? Now why didn't I think of that!? ;) Good idea, I will try it out later today.

Also good call on scoping some headrests from an original xB (or even tC) if they fit.

yeah, I tried turning the headrest around.. wow, that sure didn't feel like a good idea. ;) One little tap on the back bumper and my head would be flying back.. whiplash indeed!

On to Plan B... whatever that is (scoping out adjustable headrests)

 

The headrests are too hard. They need to use a softer foam in them in the future.
