Anybody else annoyed by the headrests?

On to Plan B... whatever that is (scoping out adjustable headrests)

Until someone rear-ends your vehicle, you don't realize how good they feel. We were hit on the Oregon Coast Hwy about 6 weeks ago (thankfully not in our xB, but in a '99 Chevy Tracker, our second vehicle we tow behind a motorhome). The headrests are in approx. the same position, as the xB's. We were the 3rd veh. forward in a 4 car accid., and I immediately felt the comfort of the headrest stop my head from going back. No whiplash problems afterwrds. I don't have any suggestions for adjustments, so good luck with some of the ideas, here. I sure do appreciate the headrests.
I'm 6' 2", though I have short legs so much of my height is in my torso, so my head sits really high when i'm sitting. I can't say that the xB2's headrests are a favorite since the back of my head rests right on the very peak the headrest when it's up as high as it will go. my posture tends to have me not leaning back into the seat, so my head rarely actually makes contact with the headrest.
Hopefully I won't get to find out how helpful it'll actually be in an accident.

Hi Yanges, and yup, I've moved them up and down (the only adjustments available) with no remedy. In fact, moving them up forces them up at an even MORE forward angle, making it impossible for my to drive with my head on the seat/headrest.
What? Did my Mom invent these things just to 'finally' make me sit up straight?
npdxc, sorry to hear your real-life headrest test! I fully intend to keep some headrest in my vehicle, no doubt about that.

I got so tired of staring at my headrest every time I turned my head to change lanes, so I took my headrest out and I can see so much better now. I also took all 3 of the rear headrests out. It really helps a lot. If I can get a driver's seat headrest that is shorter and possibly narrower I would put it in. But as it stands I cannot safely drive the car with a headrest blocking my view. My old Infiniti J30 had a shorter headrest I could look right over, and so does my mom's 2000 I30. Does anyone know if the tC headrest is shorter? I really feel strange driving around with no headrest, and would like to get a suitable one as soon as possible. Thanks!
i have no problems seeing out of my xB, but i used to drive a private charter coach [greyhound style bus] and have always been good driving with outside mirrors as that is all that is available on a bus - there is no back window to look out...
