Anyone else find it just a little eerie that all these box mobiles are popping up just to sell vehicles to the relatively small unique (yet brilliant) few that grabbed hold of the scion cube objective. I mean unless your blessed you don't get to see but 1 or 2 xb old or new on the road even in a week.

Well, I see a lot of xB G1's every day but Ford seemed to have missed the one true "feature" about the xB old or new... affordability! That thing can be decked out to $45k! Even a fully dressed xB doesn't hit $30K. Seems the world is simply going square again. Like the early 90's all over again. BTW... Friends don't let friends drive Fords!

Wasn't Ford one of the company's that publicly put down the xb when it was first released in the US? Now this.

I agree with lardo5150. It looks more like a station wagon than a box. (Or a stretched xB?)

(That length of 202.3" doesn't seem right but that's what I found quoted on the net.)
28K for that? If it wasn't for Ford's finance company they would of been out of business long ago. It looks like a Dodge Charger mated with an xb, but then found out the xb had a mini cooper recessive gene.

But in defense of Ford (), Flex is described as having innovative features including ...

Cool Features Built Right In
Flex is set apart from other vehicles thanks to a long list of surprising features. They include:

* Class-exclusive refrigerator, mounted between the second-row captain’s chairs. Unlike competitors’ systems that merely keep cold beverages cool, the Flex’s available compressor-driven refrigerator can cool up to seven 12-ounce cans, four half-liter bottles or two 20-ounce bottles from room temperature to 41 degrees in just more than two-and-one-half hours. That’s 40 percent faster than a standard home refrigerator.

* Seven-color programmable ambient lighting. Flex owners can choose interior lighting to fit their mood. With this feature – which also is being introduced on the 2008 Ford Focus – customers use a dashboard switch to change the lighting on two LEDs mounted on the front console, two on the footwells and two around the cupholders.

* Capless fuel filler system.

* Ford’s exclusive second-generation door-entry keypad.

Then Ford's done it again! Another rich man's toy (and rich mans maintenance )
When will any of these chowderhead companies think about anyones wallet but their own? I'm middle income if there is such a thing and the low end. Scion affordable somewhat fuel efficient in comparison hmmmmmm let me think. Oh ya no brainer!

LOL I love this. American car companies are afraid of change.. and probably a little ____ed that they aren't coming up with great ideas to draw in younger people.

Funny thing, a guy my age in my development here just bought a Chevy Tahoe for himslef, his wife and his ONE kid. My wife and I got TWO gen2 xBs for LESS than he paid for that Tahoe LOL I don't even want to think about what he's paying for gas......

Exactly what I was thinking. The Ford Flex, MB R-Class, Pacifica are "modern" station wagons. Anyone remember the station wagon from National Lampoons Vacation?

So they stop selling the one car they make that is reliable, and they come out with this? It looks like a poor man's range rover... but not too poor... hell, filthy rich.

According to Consumer Reports, Ford has actually beat Camry V6 and Accord V6 for reliability with the Fusion/Milan platform in it's first year. Whether that trend can continue and spread to other new models remains to be seen however.
