That is a courtesy light, not reverse light, the lens is colored red, common in japan, hopefully its available here.

I've been wanting to pput one in my xb.

Ive never seen a red courtesy light on a JDM car in the rear, but if you say so.

BTW ... i saw the new B in Miami, and the back up light had a clear lense, not red. And, this isnt Japan.

After talking with the head of sales at a local dealership yesterday, he mentioned the new xB would be 10" longer than current and have a 2.4 under the hood. Whether he was telling the truth or not I have no idea, but I wasn't there to buy one and we were talking about some other things when he mentioned it. There wasn't really a motive for him to lie to me about it.

camry 2.4 ? wouldn't be too bad IMO...my altima has that and if i were to get the next xb i wouldn't wanna downgrade to a 1.5....even the corolla 1.8 would not be so desireable. the #1 worst reviewed part about the 1st gen xb (besides love it or leave it style) is the severely underpowed 1.5. granted, do expect fuel econ to fall from the 30s well into the mid-upper 20s.

Yes...the Camry 2.4 but they told me it had been worked on to get low 30's on the mpg for the xB

If he's talking low 30s on the highway I would expect that (and be disappointed if it couldn't.) Most recent 4-cylinder engines can do that. But I don't think there's any way they'll be able to pull off low-30s for the city mileage rating given the increased size/weight and power.

Default rav4

didn't they increase power ad size with the rav4? I wasn't following that model close. I just don't have the $$$.
It would b sweet if they would hook Scion up with that level of engineering. Then all the secrets would be justified on Jan 7

Okay. . . from where I come from, civics, evo's, have them. Just thought it would make the box unique. Courtesy lights are commonly seen in Japan or UK. These are the red lense/s at the lower rear bumper while driving in foggy conditions.

Well, I'm here now and we don't get to much fog here in Ca anyway. More so in Miami.

Peace.

Yeah, the Rav stepped up in size. It's now as large as the previous generation CR-V (the new CR-V stepped up though and now is as big as a Highlander.)

The Rav also offers a 240hp V6 that's gotten a lot of acclaim for being RATED at 22mpg city, but from what I've heard a little over 18mpg is what actually pans out in the real world. That's why I hope the city mpg numbers for the new XB don't take too steep a hit from the current gen. City mpg is always the number that's hardest to obtain and if this thing only ends up being rated around 25-26 mpg city most people will likely get low 20s in the real world.

Default 2008 xB2

Here's an exterior shot colorized. Not great by any means......the front was pretty hard to define. The image didn't have a lot of detail but it gives some sense of the shape.

the only gripe i have about the new xb from what ive seen, is that there STILL isnt any real definition on the doors. i may be wrong, since i havent seen the new xb, but thats one thing i dont like about the classic, that the doors are just plain and dont have any definition or a line through the doors, dont know what thats called. i just wish they would add a little more detail to the body and not look so plain like the classic xb

Should be interesting what ever they come out with but since I love my classic xB I'm not too worried about what the next one looks like even if it's called xB.

Not that much longer until you see the real thing, folks, not long at all.

Tom
this is almost exactly it. nearly the same car that i saw at the focus group last summer. all those b/w shots are of same focus-grouped car, btw. if they unveil the same car that was focus-grouped, it is great news for everyone. and i see no reason why it won't be exactly the same. it is fantastic in every way (except mpg is going to take a hit with the bigger engine...)

If you mean the notch in acura tl(as great a car as that is), or the previous generation eclipse or grand am, im gonna say no thanks.

That's the MAIN reason i love the xb. It's no-nonsense body, with no stupid ribbing, protrusions, flares, dips, etc...

and i'd love if we just got the 1.8. More power, more mpg, and is there a reliable motor on the planet? I'd way prefer the 1.8 over the 2.4.

Yeah, people seem to be hearing $1500-$1800 over xB Classic prices for the xB2. I don't know how reliable those dealer guesses are, though.
