Bad LED dealer install
Ok, so my wife got her Xb back after 2 days of installing.. The one thing that's doesn't seem to be working right is the LED's. The cup holders are nice and bright, the door sill light is bright, but the LED's under the dash are VERY dim (and they don't match when you switch color). I'm assuming this isn't normal (off colors), and the only thing I can think of why the under dash is dimmer is because they didn't wire that properly either (probably split the power and running it on half voltage or something).
Anyone else have problems with LED kits?

Well it would appear not only did they mess up the lights, but her Sirius isn't working either. They didn't hook something up right, because we updated the ESN number on the website, but she never gets the activation on the unit.
We also come to find out that this is the FIRST satellite radio install from this dealer, and the first time working on a new Xb. I find it ridiculous that we have to drive back to this dealer (which is not close), and hope they can fix the problem. This should have been done right the first time, they've got incompetent installers working there.
I don't know what my options are, can I take it to another dealer and force them to pay labor fees?

Rule of thumb is got to give the dealer who performed the first repair a chance to correct the problem before you can have another place do it and charge the orginal place the repair cost.

We've had a couple issues as well with the Dash LED's on one of our customer's xB. It's been in a couple times now where the LED's either won't turn on or they just cut off.
I've had the same problem with my below dash illumination lighting kit. Went back to fix problem twice and two of the colors are still very dim. I kind of regret the whole intall, should of went with the spoiler.[/quote]
We had a customer in twice for the underdash led situation. The tech replaced the faulty led and it did it again so he replaced the whole kit and its fine now. I just think there was a bad batch of kits that slipped by quality control.
Give your dealer a chance to fix the problem before going somewhere else. Your xb just happened to be the first one they have installed these new parts on.
Hope everything goes well, keep us updated.

well i guess don't get too upset toyotaboy02. lots of brand new models/chassis alwyas have little "or really big" problems their first release.
give the dealer a chance. they will find a solution but give them time.

The dealer we bought it from seems to have only one tech guy, who looks like he's barely older than 20, and only works noon-8, so even though they didn't install it right we have to make an appointment to fix the problem. She ended up taking to a different dealer (who we've never had an issue with the service department, I just don't like the shady sales department). In barely 2 hours, they figured out he didn't hook up all the wires for the satellite box (now works), and they said he's missing a part for the LED kit, so when that comes in they'll install it (and by the way, they said just come in, no appointment needed).
It's always been my experience in any career that if your just starting out, that you have someone more experienced to help you out.. even if the dealer isn't willing to hire a 2nd person fulltime, at least contract someone to come in as needed while he gets some experience with Scion. Also didn't like that they told us to take it in on monday and they didn't even touch it until tuesday afternoon. They seem to have some serious communication problems between departments.
