Gen. 1 and Gen. 2 certainly look different, but they are still Scion xB's - no matter what generation. I am calling upon all xB owners to share in the coolness and uniqueness of owning this vehicle by recognizing each other when on the road. Let's not let motorcyclists have all the fun here.

So when you see an other xB coming at you on the road or at a light - flash a peace sign, make a wave or give a tumbs up and be proud of the hip-___ vehicle we all tool around in!

 

I've been trying to wave at other xB drivers since I bought my box in Feb. '05 but a majority look at me like I'm nuts, so unfortunately I've stopped waving...
The only ones that do wave back are the ones that are modified in some way, like being lowered or having nice wheels on them...

 

The first time or two, some just keep on trucking - but today I was 2 for 2 on the wave. I think once you start it going in you area, it will keep happening.

If Jeep Wrangler people can do it, we should be able to cause our rides a nicer!

 

I've been trying, but I realize after I wave as I pass them that they are often older people who obviously just bought it as cheap transportation. However, I did get one girl in a Gen 1 who made an extra effort to pull alongside me at a light to ask me about my Gen 2 and how I liked it, saying how she was thinking of getting one herself. She seemed really impressed, but her boyfriend in the passenger seat seemed none too pleased by our interaction...

 

I volunteer to wave back on behalf of the Gen 1 crowd, just because I'm so sick of being ignored by 80-year-olds in Gen 1's. FOR DOG'S SAKE SOMEONE ACKNOWLEDGE ME! :sob:

the Septuagenarians in chi-city are not a friendly bunch. never waving when driving in their scions.
same goes for all the xB2 taxi drivers around here too

 

so far the only 1st gens i see are driven by old people. the only nice modded one was parked so there was no one in it.

Yeah, I have seen a few in my area, but no wave.

 

I waved to the first 2nd gen driver I saw and he had "Gus" brand soda ads all over his brand new xb. He stopped and put down the window and says "Hi!"

I told him I just got a silver 2gen xb. Turns out he owns the soda company and gave me free soda.

I like this waving and peace sign stuff.

 

when i first got the tC, EVERY other tC would acknowledge when we would pass each other.... now that's went away... and of the dozens of xBs i've seen on the road since i got mine, i've gotten maybe one nod. does kind of bother me. went from a 'club' to just a car that any nutjob rides around in.

 

Yea I always throw the deuce or a hang-loose to xB drivers, tC guys are usually waaaaay "too cool" for the greet, but the girls always wave
