Consumer Reports Worst 11 Cars /Trucks
Of course none of them are Scions but I was surprised to see 2 Toyotas on the list. The FJ Cruiser is one, the Yaris (base model) is the other. The Yaris really was the one that made me wonder. I have not driven one before but it's a car I would consider if I needed something small with great gas mileage. How different can it be from the xA? I really did love my xA, I just really wanted the xB2 because it was bigger, more refined and a unbelievable value. It was interesting to see that all of the other cars were GM and Chrysler and one Suzuki. No Fords, Hondas, Nissans or Mazdas.

I take anything I see from Consumer Reports with a grain of salt. I subscribed to that magazine for a year and found it completely useless and not relative.
All of the vehicles in the bottom 11 are either off-road SUVs or bottom level small cars. The SUVs are being rated on qualities they weren't built to have because they are purpose built off-road vehicles. The bottom level cars are just that. They are the cheapest vehicles you can get so it should be expected for them to be at the bottom of the list. In my opinion it's just another example of how irrelevant CR is.

i agree with chadfo, I work in the consumer products field and some of their evaluations are biased and incorrect. i really can't fathom how a Toyota made the list when there are so many horrible fords, gms and chryslers
they slammed all the offroad cars and the cheap cars. of course the yaris and aveo suck compared to other cars but they're about half the price! they take points away for acceleration and handling on a car that costs about $13k and gets 40mpg. they REALLY missed the point.
the jeep, hummer, and FJ are all pretty serious offroad cars, so of course some on road sacrifices will be made. handling? they take points away from a purpose built SUV for handling? and gas mileage! come one consumer reports. you guys are idiots.
the only one i really can agree with is the grand marquis, but its literally like a ten year old model.
