Default Delivery time?

on the 19'th I'll be walking into the store with a decent downpayment for my future xb.

The major options i have chosen are foglights, remote start, c-pillar storage and ceiling storage. the rest are stff like mats and stuff.. nothing major.

Provided that the dealer has my chosen color in stock (stingray metallic) or berry crush with AT transmission. How long should it take before I could take delivery of my new ride? What about if they have to order it?

I live in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Minnesota metro and chan choose between 5 Scion dealers.

I can't really help you out with delivery times since I ordered mine through my dad's store while I was still overseas and it had to be brought in from NY yada yada yada...but when a friend of mine bought their tC they drove off the lot with it in about 6 or 7 hours (mainly because they chose the Simoniz package, the loan approvals, and a good deal of papers to sign...

But as far as the accessories you want, they can be bought at places like trdsparks.com for a lot cheaper than the dealer will charge you. I'm sure there are pleanty of people on here that can vouch for that...

And congrats on wanting to get an 08 xB...I've had mine for a little over 7 weeks (bought with 10 miles on it, now has about 6425), and I absolutely love it!

If they have your color they have the rest in a few days. The overhead will take the most time to get and put in. Congrats on becoming another XB2owner. I have had mine for 3 weeks and love it. I moved to the dark side

you could take it that day in a couple of hours if they have it in time but unless you have a sales person that really likes you you'll have to wait at least a day.

i was an Acura sales consultant and I once got a car ready in 2 hrs (it was already PDI'd). it took a lot of running around and checking on it at each stage of pre-delivery. the cleaning was easy part but getting in contact with the the customers insurance, getting that information back, and recieving the registry paperwork for plates took the longest.
it also depends on how they work with the registry. i think some dealers actually go to the RMV while others (like where i worked) register the vehicles over the computer and had plates available on site

I already have plates since in the state where i live the plates follow the owner not the car. And since I will be buying it from another state they will not have to deal with the registration or salestax. I will have to do that on my own like I have done a few times before. the reason why I would be asking is because I have a long'ish trip coming up and want to take the box on that trip instead of my expedition. I'll be buying it on a saturday and my trip starts a week later.

Any concerns about engine break-in ? not above certain mph? or RPM?

dont redline. normal driving should be fine even if it is for an extended period.
if they dont have the car in stock it would be good to check when the next one is coming in. it could be the next day or it could be that they have to order one (approx. 6 weeks). if they dont have one though, i'd say check another dealer's inventory.

hey being a scion manager i can tell you that we have not seen a stingray b yet because the color just came out. As for geting it i would call ahead give a deposit over the phone tell them to have the car ready fo ryou and you could be out in an hour flat easy!

save some cash and time, order the console/c pillar nets and other crap from www.trdsparks.com
they have the complete instruction manuals also.
installation is probably a couple of hours max for everything you want.
However, I do suggest you get the fog lights.

I could save a few bucks by ordering the parts on my own and then installing them but since I suck at instsalling anything and I'm a afraid I would mess up my brand new wheels... I'll let them do it. Mats and stuff i could order but the shipping almost makes up for the price difference and on the upside i get my stuff right away! I cant wait! I think i have decided on the berry crush one.

smart man :D

the wheels.... i really suggest you save the money for "better" wheels. i assume your talking about the 19s. since they're oem they are a lot of money. find a nice set that you really like and chances they'll be cheaper.

i'd really suggest buying the accessories online. if you dont know how to install something, chances are a) theres a DIY already made or b) someones willing to make one or help you out

If you still havent gone to the dealership, try going to Walser Toyota/Scion. My dad works there, ask for Randy Byrne. He will take care of you.

If Walser has the color you want, it usually takes 3 days to get parts, then add on a few days for installation.

Then again, if walser doesnt have what you want and you are eager to get one, go someplace else.

PM me if you would like to set up a meeting w/ my dad or something.

your probably off selling it yourself, or make sure you look on KBB for the trade in value etc..
Also there are probably a few local scion clubs that can help you install your accessories without problems.
