Default Engine coolant light

Hello everyone!

Quick question I just purchased a 2012 xB. I noticed that in the morning when I start it up the engine coolant light comes on its goes out after a few min. I checked the coolant and its at the correct level. Is this normal on morning starts?

Also this a manual are they kind of noisy with the shifts 1st & 2nd not like transmission but other sounds? Or is it me that I have not driven manuals in a couple of years? Thanks for your help & advice in advance

I believe that light just says the coolant isn't up to a certain temp. I know the xd my ex drove had a coolant light. I think it changes a few things til it warms up like keeping the engine below a certain rpm and its speed.

Toyota went cheap on several of their cars and got rid of the temperature gauge.

The green temp light should come on at start up and stay on till the car is warmed up and then shut off. So your fine. If a red temp light comes on then your in trouble and you need to shut the car off as soon as safely possible

Starts off BLUE for cold until 138 degrees F then goes out, turns on again RED probably around 250F you don't ever want to see it red!

Yup, that is normal.
It says so in your owners manual, I suggest you read it, all kinds of info in there.
