What's up everyone? Picked up a 2010 SW xB 5 speed on Feb 16th with 12 miles on it. I've put 3500 miles on it since, and noticed that inside my exhaust there is a slight slight layer of soot. Does anyone else in here have same? My previous car a 91 Nissan Maxima with 290,000 miles still has a clean exhaust. Just wondering if this is normal on these cars?

Other than that, car is pretty fun. Happy new Scion owner here.

 

Some soot buildup will be normal, it burns gas! Wouldn't worry about it. Rings are still seating, so that might contribute. Normal.
