Default Exhaust note....

I want to improve the sound of my xB2 exhaust, but not that high pitched sound I hear from the freaky Honda civics everywhere... I want a lower pitched hum. Would that come from larger Pipe? I was thinking an oversized Oval system like; https://www.drgas.net/category.php?cid=19&catid=3, and a glasspak... Is the sound a combination of CID / Pipe size / Back Preasure ? or is there more to think about ??
And how important is back preasure to our engines performance & fuel economy ?

RG...

Get an HKS Hi-power exhaust and leave the rest alone. Probably the best sounding exhaust tone I've ever heard on a 4 cylinder.

Not to be a smartass, but I dont think they make a Hi-Power for our xB's. I have had a HKS Hi-power on an evo and it is pretty loud. Ours is the ES wagon muffler or something.

Default Lower note..

Still looking... My muffler shop guy says a oversized flowmaster will get me the results I'm looking for, but, a custom cat-back hand made system is over $300, I'd rather go "off the shelf", with something proven... What about duals out the back, aside from the bumper notch, what kind of hassle is that ? That should lower the exhaaust velocity and thus the high pitch as well... right??? Speaking of bumper notches... Anyone make an "overlay" for the bumper with 2 cutouts in it ? You know the black inset piece that has both cutouts, so they match, and you don't need any plastic/fiberglass work?

Thanks, Rich...

Highflow cat + borla gives you a nice tone I got a flowmaster 44 in the trunk hopefully when that's installed it should be perfect
