FEEDBACK REQUESTED: Glossy Black Paint?
Hello Scionlifers!
You have all been so helpful in the past and I really need some feedback ASAP on a color for the xD and xB.
For those of you who don’t know, I work for Scion HQ (not a dealer, the actual corporate offices) and I’m on here from time to time soliciting feedback or just reading through the posts.
Please provide your thoughts on a new black for the xB- instead of the metallic black sand pearl we have now, how would you feel about a glossy black instead? (For example, the one used on the Lexus GS)
Thank you so much in advance for any and all feedback you guys have!!

Carbon--It's basically metallic vs gloss black-- so with Obsidian, there is no sparkle in it-- its just gloss black.

Alright, the pictures I'm seeing make it look creamy and dull, like BSP. I can't recall seeing Obsidian in person, but I know the sparkle crap in BSP is ridiculous. All the shots I'm seeing look like a dark gray, instead of black.

you better put a damn thick layer of clear coat cause gloss black will show swirls worse than BSP

you make a good point! Would that be something that would altogether prevent you from getting the black color on a Scion (the possibility of swirl marks showing)?

I say gloss black would be a good choice. Repeating what was already said MAKE sure there is a good clear on it. My 08 Xb2 is blue and I wash and wax my car religously and the Hairline scratches from the wind is horrible. Also one other flaw regarding paint is the rear quarter and bottom of the rear doors needs a bigger protective film cause with black that area will pitt and show wear very fast.[/quote]
