IMO a deep high gloss black is the best looking paint there is, but it must be a VERY HIGH QUALITY paint and paint process. Black is the best looking when clean & perfect, but by far the hardest to keep that way. While I think a deep high gloss pure black would look great on the xB, I find it impossible to believe that Scion could put the quality level of paint and painting process needed on a car that retails for $17k. It's one thing to put a $3-4k paint job on a $40k+ car, it's a whole other thing to expect that on a $17k car.

Yeah...I agree with Cionide. We need to keep things in perspective.

FWIW, granted, I have only had my SW xB2 for a couple of months and only 2K miles, but I have not seen any issue with the paint so far. The car is park outside, and I keep coat of wax on it.

Right, I definitely understand where you are coming from on the quality of the gloss black paint.

Thanks for the input on this, I really appreciate it!

I would have to say BSP but with less sparkles.. lol I don't care for flat colors much, even glossy flat colors. Its boring to me. That and the swirls issue and knowing how cheap the paint used on Scions are these days.. that would be such a PITA to deal with. :?
