Nice! Have fun with the install. You won't be disappointed.

so i put in the exhaust and i def like it a lot. it seems more quiet that what i thought it would be. are there any suggestions on how to get more rumble? it's not raspy at all and it sounds very smooth, but it doesn't growl as much as i would like

thanks

To get more growl/rumble out of your car in addition to your Strup, there are some helping factors:
  1. Intake - Replacing the stock air box with a cone filter would definitely bring more growl to your car, specially at WOT. If anything, go for a CAI. I have the Tenzo R setup right now. It gives a nice whistle and aggressive growl when I start opening the throttle.
  2. Scuba Replacement / Delete - The main reason our exhaust is so quiet, even with a cat-back, is because of the scuba tank and our pre-cat at the stock headers. I'm sure you spotted that when you installed the Strup. This tank is composed of both a resonator and a catalytic converter, which means restricted exhaust flow.

Replacing the scuba with a high flow resonator and cat would help up the rumble. Deleting it is another option but then the dying cat sound comes out, kinda like a Civic (from YouTube videos). Of course, it's all your preference.

I believe Malibuguy (https://www.scionlife.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=185619) is working on a full exhaust system for our cars, with a scuba replacement option for those who don't want the full package. Other than that, I think Descendant is also working an setup as well. As far as progress of these kits, I have no clue.

Good luck with your setup! I hope you find the right sound you want. If anything, YouTube helps. I personally like this setup. He did a custom scuba replacement. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o8qql...os=5iXHjWvw-gA

the CAI may be the way to go. option 2 seems like too much work and i don't know jack about doing a DIY.

thanks for that info tho. what options do we have for the CAI. I know there is the TRD and Injen and you mentioned tenzo. i'm assuming there is not much difference between all these.

thanks for the info btw

As for the scuba replacement, you wouldn't do it yourself (unless you have all the tools and time). People usually take it to a shop to get it customized. The shop does everything for you.

As for the CAI, there are a lot of options out there. It really depends on what you want. Intakes are just pipes and filters so I don't believe any brand is better than others performance wise. Some just look prettier than others . Here is a thread on clubxB (http://www.clubxb.com/forums/f67/best-intake-22101.html) that talks roughly about intakes. I couldn't find the threads on SL that talk about them anymore. They either disappeared or my search is horrible.

I personally chose the Tenzo R. Its one of the cheapest CAIs and performs great IMO. Around $120 shipped.

Side notes:
  • TRD CAI is CARB Approved
  • Installation of these intake is very easy. Just follow instructions and you're set.

so my axis apex rims came in today...and i checked the boxes and they are 4/100. WHAT DA HELL!

finally got my rims and they came in the wrong pattern. It makes me sick looking at these rims and not being able to put them on. it's like a bad bad joke!
