Default Help Navigation and Satellite

My dealership just called and told me that you can't get the factory navigation and have the satellite radio hooked into it that I would have to buy an aftermarket satellite hook-up. Is this true. I could of sworn i've seen it where the Sat it in the navigation screen.

I don't know if this helps, but the reference guides show the Scion Navigation system with the Satellite radio as an optional mode. Now - if for some reason it your dealership doesn't install the parts required to do that, I would be extremely surprised. But I've been fooled before.

I would call another dealership in the area and check to see if they've installed satellite into cars with the DVD navigation and how they did it.

This doesn't sound exactly right. When you say "hook up", what do you mean? There are three required components to a satalite system: antenna, reciever (not the head unit), control modual. The Scions have the control modual built into the HU, you only need ad the reciever (it decodes the sat signal, and preloads about 6 sec of airtime for going under obstructions) and the antenna.

I call Malarky on that. You look at the instructions Toyota is putting out that I posted above and you'll see for sure that it's supposed to be an available input to the system. I think you're getting bad info - call another dealership and get the guys name who'll say it's possible, then call your dealership back and tell them to call the other guy for instructions! OR even refer them to the instructions at the link I gave you and ask why Toyota is putting bad info on their website! Malarky Malarky Malarky.

Sorry to get so crazy - I hate when someone says it can't be done because they just don't know that it can!

This is from the xB/Personalize/Audio visual/Scion Navigation description on the Scion website.
