I have not had any reception problems with the shark fin at all. The radio reception has been very clear.

The install of the Shark fin is SUPER SIMPLE.

1. Unscrew antenna.
2. Check fitment and location of the shark fin. Use masking tape if needed to help guide the edge location limits of the shark fin.
3. Clean surface area where shark fin will adhere to. I uses Dawn dishwashing liquid and rubbing alcohol to clrant the surface.
4. screw wire from shark fin to stock antenna base. <- VERY IMPORTANT STEP!!!
5. Stick on Shark fin and apply pressure for 1 minute.
6. Remove any masking tape guides.
7. Apply polish/wax and buff area and shark fin.
8 Enjoy!!

Note: Again, you do NOT need to remove the stock base of the antenna. It fit over the stock base, The shark fin has a small wire inside that screws on to the stock base antenna.

I hope this helps.
