Default how long did you wait?

Hi, this seems like a great community and this is my first post! I purchased an '09 xB on June 30 from a local dealer in New Jersey, and they did not have the car in the color I wanted -- Stingray Metallic, so I ordered one and was told it could be up two weeks before it would arrive. Well, here I am almost 1 full month later and there is no sign of the car. I knew when I purchased the car that there was the possibility of waiting a bit, but are there any other '09 owners out there that had to wait awhile? What's a reasonable amount of time? I understand things happen and there was an issue with '09s on the East Coast being held up at port, but if the dealer says two weeks then I expect should expect two weeks, no? i'm ready to drive!

I waited like 3 days for my BSP... But it was pure luck because as soon as I placed the order I saw a truck go by with a BSP on it. Salesman checked and it was not on hold. So luckily, I didn't have to wait. Otherwise, It prob would of been a few weeks!

I ordered mine on April 30th and it got to the dealer on May 23rd. I ordered from an out of state dealer (sister-in-law worked there) and they delivered the car to my house the next day. It went to Oregon first to have my accessories installed so had I not had anything added on, then I might have gotten it a bit quicker.

When I put my name on mine, it was already on its way to my dealership so I actually waited about 3 days for my Stingray Metallic. I've had it for almost a month now.

Took me about a month to get mine. I ordered a 09 SW 5spd base model. I just got the car on the 18th. Worth the wait.

I and my family also wanted the stingray metallic with manual transmission. They told me normally it would be about 10-20 days, but said the new color may be longer. It took 4 weeks. About 8 days after it hit Portland it left and came to me. It was well worth the wait. The dealer was probably thinking this is a normal car, but the new color is taking a bit of time. They blew it when they told you the short time, but follow up and confirm they know some sort of timeline.

mine only took about a week. it would have been quicker, but the dealer screwed something up and didn't 'call dibs' on the first one i wanted. no matter. they found another, except it had tinted windows. i went ahead and bought it because it would have been a month otherwise. besides, it's not like i wasn't going to tint the windows myself. this just cost more, but whatever.

Thanks for the replies so far. I don't mind the wait (yet) but I don't want the dealer to continually push back the date of arrival.

not if you want a manual transmission. every dealer i called had maybe one at the most, and none had the color i wanted.

We got our 2009 Stringray Metallic in about 3 days. It had to be shipped in from a dealer about 45 miles away.

It sounds like your dealer isn't interested in making a deal if he can't get one any faster than that.
