The oil change guys wanted to charge me $40 to replace my filter. I was too lazy to make my own so I ordered one from TRD.

Anyway, I think they put the filter back in sideways since it was basically bent in half. Are the stiff sides of the filter supposed to be toward the front and back of the car or toward the sides? Seems to me they would be toward the front and back so you can read the "up^" label.

I put mine in with the up visible, IIRC.

Thats what I was thinking. My factory one was all smashed in their wrong too. When I replaced it at 10k miles, I put it in the way it should fit. Maybe the folks at the factory dont know how to read directions.
