Default The ignorance of other drivers

Heres a little story that i feel the need to vent to people that have probably, at one time or another, been in a situation like this.

Yesterday afternoon I got the TRD cold air intake that i have been waiting to get for the last few months So i drive home and im enjoying the throaty, deep sound it makes under WOT. I come around a turn on one of the small side streets a few blocks away from my house (heres the part that you are waiting for) A bright yellow nissan sentra, body kit, an otherwise ok looking car, comes hauling a$$ out of a driveway cuts me off and laughs out his window "Hahaha" with a wonderful tone of attitude/d-baggy-ness. Soooo long story short i know it shouldnt bother me because i love my car, i love what i do to it, and what it looks like. Im not one to judge someone else for the look of their car, But i cant help but want to pound the dudes face in! Any one wants to share an experience like mine just to vent?? no matter how petty i would like to get/give feed back to give me some closure with out getting convicted of assult lol.

People will always hate anything you do, and almost all of them will want you to know exactly how they feel about it.

Get used to that petty "I think I'm better than you and I want to prove it" attitude, too.

I wouldn't call it envy, really. It's more a dominance thing; the more ricer you become, the more you want to "get kills" and "own posers" and such.

That's why you have real performance upgrades, something the ricer haters don't have, and you just speed away from them if they wanna start some drama.

Well its nice to see you handled it maturely and didnt go full force into the back of his car at the next stop... hahaha. But yeah, stuff like this happens all the time and to just about all of us non d-bags. Dont let it get to you bro. We got your back ;) And honestly I think driving the xB shows a good deal of maturity in the person lol. I mean look at the old people driving the xBs!

I appreciate the positivity from you guys! just out of curiousity what motor does the sentra come with? a 1.8?? 2.0?? just to see if he would have a leg to stand on in the event we ever both go to the local drag strip ( it would never happen, i dont like the idea of beating on my car just for the bragging rights that i beat a p.o.s. sentra)

I know, every time i pass one on the road, which dosent happen very often in my area. Im hopeing to see a young person with the same passion for the car we do. But 9 out of 10 times it is an older person, it really suprises me to see that one older guy has put 18" black rims on his white box, but unlike yellow sentra drivers he was a cool guy and just waved as he went by.

hmm 2.5 6 speed huh, i would think that be a nice race. I have cold air, and quickshifter (trd) no exhaust yet, as for boost.... i know i want to get a turbo but cash flow is always tight with a 2yr old son and a spend-a-holic wife.

I don't know if it's an age thing or an attitude thing, but at some point I really genuinely stopped caring what other people think.

Seeking validation from others either consciously or unconsciously is a mistake.

Enjoy your XB. Who cares what some dumb kid thinks.

I always find it amusing when its some kid driving a civic with an unpainted bodykit, mismatched wheels, cut springs, and a crap sounding exhaust who is giving you the look like his car is better. Its even better when he is trying to get you to race in rush hour traffic.

Some people are just plain stupid and should be ignored, don't let them get to you.

Just kidding !!

Just ignore them, seems like each year I see more jerks on the road, always in a big hurry to get no where.

One almost killed an oncoming car just to pass me and get behind the same bus I was stuck behind.

Yep, that's the ricer mentality. They have to race anyone and everyone to mask their obvious shortcomings. And when you ask them about how ____ty their car looks, it's always "oh I'm just waiting on my raise from Burger King and then I'll finish it".

No it wouldn't. He would destroy you.

I get tailgated all the people wanting to race or just being d-bags, more likely cuase of the fart can hanging off the back of my car. Funny thing is the look on their face when they realize I am boosted, I usually do not try to race but the tailgate ish just ____es me off.

I guess there is a reason why we are driving this cool xB's because we don't
do the rice thing and we are into a different thing with this cars?
Myself I love this box and I want it to look cool for me and I could care less
what others think, because I was going to buy a Camaro SS loaded until the
dealer slapped on a unreasonable cost above MSRP, so now I'm cruising around with a sweet box.
If you want to race, get a Viper or better, and don't let punks get to ya.

If it helps at all I smoked a brand new Kia Forte Coupe 2.4 6 speed. Pulled 2 car lengths on it twice! I was thoroughly surprised! haha. Look up the specs on one. I have a few mods though.

my main car is an 02 civic. no mods, no nothing, everything stock, but i have a real bad tendency to tailgate and drive real real fast, probably ____ed off a ton of drivers in all my years of driving in l.a. i guess i'm just perpetuating that asian stereotype. anyways, one thing i'm hoping to do with the xb is to learn to take things slow. i got this car as a family car and need to think about cruising rather than speeding like i used to.
