Default I'm Comming back to SL with an 08' xB!

Hey all,

I had a beloved 05' xB on TRD 18's that I traded in on an 06' Element EX AWD- Love the car/suv but I am only averaging 20 MPG!!! with a 2.4L 4 cycl....

I put a deposit on a 08' xB a few weeks ago and I am first on the "list" at the dealership- so I will see you guys soon!

now I know we've all heard this, "Is that an element?", but I think it would be hilarious if someone walked up to you and said, "Is that one of those skions?"

2.4L 4 cylinder is a big 4 cylinder bud. I was happy I got 20 MPG in my 240sx with a 2.4L 4-banger. Welcome back to happier side of the boxy car revolution...here's your cookie:

Just curious as to what dealership this is...?
They're taking money from you? Putting you on a list? Interesting.

I love Toyota and Scion vehicles myself, but knowing that there are some real design changes-I don't understand putting money down on a car that is barely reaching production prep. I'm also not aware that dealers are officially ordering 2008 model xBs yet, either. You may be getting a call soon that your new xB is ready ('07), or finding that you're not getting your car any sooner than some guy who just walks into the dealer later this year when the cars are on the lot.

Well, let me start by saying that I moved to a part of southern oregon a were it snows 4 months out of the year (it's 7 degrees out right now). So that why I jumped to the Element with AWD- AWD is why the same engine thats in the Accord gets an EPA 21-24 VRS EPA 27-32. That and the fact that the E wieghs 3500 pounds. And let me also say that the AWD in the E is amazing I love the car and the 7 speaker stereo is amazing and the rubber floor and interior materials are a plus- But I just have a special place for the xB and I called the salesman of the scion dealership of the place where i got the fist xB and asked if the had any 06' xBs and they said no. they are forever gone,- so I put a fully refundable deposit on an 08' xB with the smallest engine availible (for MPG reasons) There is still speculation wether or not the 08 xb is comming with a 1.8 or 2.4 or both. so the dealership fully does not have a clue on MSRP, specs or anything elese at this point- the contract just says that i am #2 on the "list" - the owner wants the first- and that I perfer a silver auto xB with the smallest engine availible, and that i will be charhed MSRP with a $100 title ect fee.....

anyways, i will keep you guys posted

Any dealer worth a damn would certainly take a deposit on any car really. The new xB should be no different. It's all about what the customer wants!

I haven't had anybody lay out the bucks yet, but I'm betting they will immediately after the Chicago Auto Show.

yeah, I still wish i had the classic-

luckily for me though- I bought my E for invoice and it blue books for $2500 more than the original MSRP, so i am aking what I paid for it 6 months ago- which is 4k less than what is blue books for(private party). All in all, I will have driven the E basically for free- plus get me down payment back and put that back on an xB. My E is priced 2-3K less than what others are asking for on autotrader- and mine has 4,500 miles- not 30k!

Confusing I know, but I have learned my lesson and to always stick with Toyota/Scion.....

more info to come....
