Insurance cost wierdness!
I think the scion may be just be expensive to fix, that matters some too. We have a 2007 Hyundai Sonata thats fully covered at $62/mo, and my 2009 xB is $65/mo. Both are covered under State Farm, whom Ive been with for 16 years.
Id shop around. The bank I work for does not cover NYers for idenity thieft insurance for some reason.
I am paying 110 a month for full coverage on the 09 xb, 97 tacoma and liability only on a 99 chevy metro.

Keep in mind that WHERE the car is located has one of the largest affects on the cost of identical insurance...
It is not really possible to compare insurance costs between urban Newark and rural Nebraska, for example.

True, though that's not what I'm comparing. My comparison is between a 2008 xB and a 1990 Eclipse GSX Turbo for liability and PIP insurance only with same limits and deductables, usage and driver and garaging for both.
I guess I did not notice the years in your OP, but it doesnt surprise me at all. If the eclipse (19 yr old car) wasn't significantly less than a 2009 ANYTHING, Id be irritated.

The xB is an economy mini-wagon, my Eclipse is a turbo sports car. Performance characteristics would clearly indicate the turbo sports car as the more likely road offender. And yet the xB gets top billing on the basis of likelihood of paying out funds to victims.
However, this really does agree with the statistic that the xB is one of the top ten speeding ticket offenders. I only wonder how that actually divides out between 2008 and earlier. I'd expect it to be by far the xB1 (takes time to accumulate stats) and so I'm guessing xB2 owners are just paying the price of xB1 owner transgressions!
