I got the nav but it did not come with the iPod cable?
Is this extra?
Does it include the iPod cup holder?

Is anyone else having their iPod switch to Repeat:All mode after plugging into a 2008 xB base model stereo?

This happened to me with my old Pioneer head unit. It was basically the same head unit as the premium option on the new XB. All you need to do is reset your ipod. Press and hold menu and up I think. Anyway, if Im wrong just call the apple store and they will tell you how to do it. After the reset it won't play the same stupid songs over and over again =)

How are you connecting your iPod?
That sounds like what would happen if you used the AUX input and the headphone jack output.
If you use the docking port on the bottom with the iPod specific cable there is no need to mess with the volume. The head unit receives full volume on everything when you are using the docking port.
The only other thing that could be causing this is a bad track (or group of tracks) on your iPod. Have you tried various tracks?

^^ ditto! It should sound good if you have it plugged into the iPod cable. Unless you have a song that has a bad sound quality. I have a 06.5 and I my iPod radio! Especially how it changes colors. Hehehe.

Plugging it directly into the IPod port, I wonder if its because it may be playing just the audio of mp4 music videos that I have there and not mp3 files. I'll wipe it out and throw just mp3's and see how it works.

I just paid for a 21062 cable on e-Bay and am looking forward to running an iPod on my 2nd hand xB when the cable arrives. Nobody seemed to know what the cable was and I got it for rock bottom.

Cheers, all
