Default Issue with gauge cluster

Driving home today I looked at my speedo and noticed just left of the letter drive display (P, D, R, 1, 2, 3, etc...) There was this area of additional lighting that showed up *look left of the P*.

Note: that is not my photo, found off google and PS'd it to look like mine.

Anyway,

I noticed it slowly went away and now its completely gone. What caused this and why did it do it? I thought it was gonna be permanent but luckily it did go away, just confused on what and why, lol.

Anybody have an idea?

I am going to guess you saw that appear not too long after you wiped dust off the dispaly.

I've had thesame thing happen, traced it down to static electricity.

Maybe its telling you that your gear selector is on your right... (similar to the fuel gauge telling you your fuel tank is on the left)

I've had the same thing happen to me. Using a duster on the gauge bezel, like yours, it went away after a few minutes.

The xB does have some serious static electricity. Crazy stuff though, very interesting.
