Just wondering
There is black vinyl tape on the a-pillar(the metal bar separating the windshield from the front door), and around the door window trim. I prefer the tape on due to the fact it creates a sleek, clean wraparoud glass area on the car. If you take the a-pillar tape off you will notice the bottom of the a-pillar doesn't flow into the body but disappears into a pool of black plastic, separating it from the rest of the body. Taking the tape off the door window trim completely destroys the window line creating more separation and giving it more of an suv look IMHO. I think removing the a-pillar tape doesn't look bad but removing the window tape looks terrible.

The reason for the tape is because the car was based on the t2B concept which had actual glass there. I guess it would be difficult to make a production car with all glass a-pillars, so the tape is there to creat the illusion of the glass wraparound.
Everything under the taped is painted like the rest of the body. All you have to do is peel it off no painting necessary. I've seen where some reccommend to put in the sun or use a blow dryer to soften a bit to make it easier to peel.
